Background
From his Village biography (self-reported): grew up in the Peace, partly on his grandparents' acreage bordering Pouce Coupe; South Peace Secondary graduate; 18 years in the safety industry as a medic, rescue technician and safety instructor; moved near the village in 2015; former Pouce Coupe volunteer firefighter; deputy chief of operations and past president of South Peace Search and Rescue.[3] His official residence, Electoral Area D, fits that description.[4]
Council record, 2021 to 2026
- Attendance. About 15 absences this term; in 2026 he missed January 28, February 25, May 27, June 24 and August 26 (the last three from draft minutes).
- Budgets. Seconded more motions than anyone on council and was the majority's main seconder on the 10 percent (2024), 7 percent (2025) and 5 percent (2026) increases.[5][6][7]
- Moved buying the regional district's old fire truck for $1 (November 2022), a letter opposing federal gun bill C-21 (January 2023), the $40,000 Canada Day budget (February 2023) and taking Canada Day back in-house (April 2023).
- Lone vote against the Alberta-time letter (May 2026, draft minutes).
- Recorded as abstaining on three votes separating the CAO and Corporate Officer roles, one of which he moved himself; this may be a minute-taking error.[8]
- In October 2021 he voted with council to remove Mayor Michetti's portfolios.[9]
2026 campaign and platform
Facebook, June 18, 2026 (self-reported): he will seek "a second full term as councillor, continuing my service to this community... Throughout my campaign, I will maintain a professional and respectful demeanour, engaging directly with residents and addressing their concerns."[10][11]
Promises and delivery
His only findable campaign statement is from the 2021 by-election: "This is not the time to sling mud or be negative; It is a time to come together and build for our future." It is not measurable.[12] No 2022 promise was found. Other work during his term: he seconded the lagoon grant applications (2022 and 2023), the December 2023 engineering pre-approval and the 2024 grant top-up,[13][14][15][16] and moved the 2025 motion to fund the Village Office Park playground in phases.[17]
What the record shows
Facts. The 2022 poll-topper and a first responder with fire and search-and-rescue experience. The majority's most reliable seconder on budgets. Firearms-owner resolutions and fire department items are his signature. His absences rose in 2026.
Our reading (inference, not fact). The continuity candidate with the strongest personal vote. His pledge of a "professional and respectful demeanour" may be a nod to council's internal friction.
